Project Manager E-Learning

Maxcademy has an amazing chance to join our amazing team in Paramaribo!  This is a fulltime (40h) or part time (32h) position.

Maxcademy B.V. is an international, creative e-learning agency with its headquarters in The Hague and a team in Suriname. We focus on creating modern educational products such as e-learning, software simulations and animation videos. We do this with a motivated team based in the Caribbean. We also work closely with freelancers from Canada, the US, the UK and South Africa, among others.


We are looking for a Project Manager who can use proven skills to streamline our projects. Experience with the E-learning industry is not necessary, but it is nice if you have an affinity with one of our fields: business management, learning management or the creative industry.

What does a Project Manager do at Maxcademy?


You will work closely with our clients and our team to create and deliver training materials that support our clients' business objectives and ongoing operations. 


The Project Manager is a client liaison and the leader of the project team, working with e-learning specialists, actors, script writers, proofreaders, animators and engineers from places such as Suriname, the Netherlands, the US and South Africa.


The Project Manager is responsible for the entire scope of the project, from inception to launch - both for the "big picture" of the project and for all the myriad day-to-day details. The Project Manager can identify, anticipate and manage risks, resulting in a smooth, efficient, on-time and on-budget project. 


As the Project Manager, you are the main point of contact for management. You ensure that the team knows every day what is expected of them and that it is clear to customers when they will receive which parts of the project. So you make sure that every day everything goes well. 



  • Creating and maintaining project backlogs, including realistic schedules and

  • Tracking milestones and dependencies 

  • Taking ownership of the customer relationship throughout the project

  • Acting as the primary point of contact towards the client

  • Setting and managing client expectations

  • Providing clients with alternatives when challenges arise during the project 

  • Reporting on the progress of projects through the key stages of their conception, creation & execution

  • Aligning capacity between management and the team

  • Managing contractors, including some who work virtually and in different time zones 

  • Oversee and monitor the quality of all deliverables 

  • Deliver projects

  • Optimize work practices and processes

  • Mentoring and encouraging creative team members to foster a positive work atmosphere

  • Participate in sales processes and think with the team to create proposals for new clients 


Required skills


Our ideal candidate has the following skills, experience, and personality traits: 


  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a client-facing Project Manager 

  • Experience in leading projects from pre-production to launch

  • Experience in developing proposals 

  • Experience prioritizing and managing people working on multiple projects 

  • Experience working with remote team members 

  • Preference for deadline-driven work that requires multitasking 

  • Excellent customer management skills 

  • Excellent oral and written communication 

  • Strong knowledge of internet technologies and solutions 

  • Detail-oriented, with an orientation towards copy editing and/or quality assurance 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 

  • Respectful, positive and approachable attitude 

  • A positive outlook on life (a "glass half full" type of person) 

  • A genuine interest and passion for people & their projects

  • Leading and motivating the project team




You will start learning with us right away. The first few days you will attend training courses that we have created for our clients. These are interesting training courses with business topics, from which you can learn a lot.


Then we'll show you how we edit videos, how we make software simulations and how we design courses. Under the guidance of your mentor - an experienced e-learning expert - you will soon be working to create valuable products for our customers. You'll continue to learn daily throughout your career.


You will be expected to participate in improving the content we offer and in promoting our services to potential new customers. We expect you to read professional literature and take courses throughout your career to keep your knowledge up to date.

How does the recruitment process work?

This job is open for applications until the 28th of February. After that date, we will select 3 or more candidates who will be interviewed by our founder. We will then go through these steps:

  • First round: Interview by our founder

  • Second round: We will share a fictional case with you to know how you would go about it

  • Third round: Interview with another team member

  • Offer: After the third interview, the best fitting profile will receive an offer
