E-learning for business-critical change and ESG

Within Vion, employees must be able to rely on processes, systems, and knowledge that directly impact daily operations. At the same time, themes such as sustainability, food safety, animal welfare, and responsible resource use are playing an increasingly significant role within the organisation and the chain.

Maxcademy supports Vion in both areas. For the implementation of various business-critical systems, we developed a comprehensive training programme. In addition, we developed a separate ESG learning programme that focuses on subject matter experts and employees of Vion.

Both projects require a different learning strategy, but share the same premise: translating complex information into concrete digital learning content that employees can follow independently and that technically aligns with Vion's existing learning environment.

Supporting the implementation of business-critical systems with e-learning

More than 50 trainings

For various business-critical systems, Maxcademy developed an extensive range of digital training for employees.

Interactive software instruction

Videos, software demonstrations, and interactive exercises help employees to learn new processes and actions step by step.

Applying knowledge directly

Quizzes and practical processing support employees in checking and applying what they have learned in the training.

Confidential training content

The training supports business-critical systems and processes. Therefore, we consciously do not share any screenshots, software images, or content from the modules in this portfolio case.

From system screen to task-oriented digital instruction

When implementing business software, it is not enough to simply show employees which buttons they need to use. They must understand which action corresponds to their role, when to perform it, and how the new system connects to the underlying process.

Therefore, the training combined different forms of instruction. Screencasts and software demonstrations show processes step by step, interactive components give employees the chance to practice actions, and quizzes support knowledge assessment.

The modules have been delivered as SCORM packages and placed in the Learning Management System of Vion. This allowed the training programme to connect to the existing digital learning environment and be made centrally available for the relevant employees.

ESG: sharing specialist sustainability knowledge at scale

Vion takes responsibility for the impact of its activities and supply chain on, among other things, climate, food safety, animal welfare, biodiversity, and the use of resources. To involve employees in this, Maxcademy developed approximately two hours of digital ESG content.

The programme addresses themes such as an introduction to ESG, climate, biodiversity, safe and healthy food, animal welfare, and resources and circular solutions. The content has been developed in collaboration with experts within Vion.

Vion itself also describes on its website that a comprehensive ESG training is offered through the internal Vion Academy to engage employees within the organisation with the sustainability goals.

From expert interviews and filming to complete SCORM module

For the ESG programme, Maxcademy supported the entire production process. We gathered content from experts, filmed employees, and then processed the specialist knowledge into digital learning content.

Our activities included, among other things:

  • interviews with subject matter experts;
  • structuring and elaborating on the content;
  • recordings with Vion employees;
  • video editing and subtitling;
  • development of animations and interactive components;
  • compiling the complete online modules;
  • SCORM export and technical delivery.

This creates a consistent learning experience in which Vion's own experts and employees remain visible while the content is professionally translated into scalable online learning.

A scalable learning programme for system adoption and sustainability

The collaboration resulted in two extensive digital learning pathways that have now been fully delivered.

As a result, Vion has:

  • more than 50 digital training courses on business-critical systems;
  • a combination of video, software demonstrations, interaction, and quizzes;
  • SCORM content that can be made available centrally via the LMS;
  • approximately two hours of ESG learning on multiple strategic sustainability themes;
  • videos and animations in which experts and employees from the organisation itself play a role;
  • a consistent approach for the scalable transfer of complex knowledge.

For Maxcademy, Vion demonstrates that customised e-learning is not only suitable for standalone training. It can also be a structural part of large change programmes, system implementations, and organisation-wide knowledge development.
